Welcome Home Elder Murray!!

Friday night at 5:26 pm we all were floating on air at the Idaho Falls airport as we anxiously awaited the 24 hour delayed arrival of Elder Murray. A few brief moments later I happened to look up and recognize him coming around the corner at the top of the steps and announced to everyone that it was him and he was coming! Of course a bazillion cameras were put into place to snap the picture of Elder Murray's very first moments back in our presence again! My little sister Jamie and I held up the "finish line" banner we had made for him and directed Mom to stand behind it. A few seconds later cameras we going off to get the precious pictures of Elder Murray and his Mother embracing again. Tears started flowing as they held each other and cried for the few brief seconds that time seemed to stand still. Afterward, Dad moved in for his long awaited hug and a couple of jokes were shared I'm sure. Time started back up again and cameras continued flashing and tears continued flowing as Elder Murray made his rounds with hugs for all those who came to show support.
After we all visited with friends, family, neighbors, and ward members, some assisted Elder Murray with his luggage and we formed our family caravan and headed for the cemetery where my nephew was buried the day after Elder Murray left for the Ghana MTC. After arriving we all unloaded and made our way to the grave site of sweet little Keagan. We had all spent time as families or individuals at this same spot where we were able to feel of the peace the gospel and our Heavenly Father's eternal plan had brought to us through our grieving. Of course there were bitter sweet feelings for the purpose of the gathering but I hope in the future the cemetary will be a solace for Elder Murray as he returns often.
After Elder Murray had some time to take things in, we were all given one of the yellow balloons used to celebrate his welcome home and as a family we released them into the sky. We had done this very same thing at Keagan's funeral to celebrate each and every day he was here on earth with us. And, just like before, it lifted our eyes to the Heavens and brought a smile to our faces. Once again I am so grateful for the knowledge we have that we will get to be with Keagan again some day.
Later we returned back to Mom and Dad's house for Elder Murray's first homemade meal back from the mission. It was great to have everyone around the table for yummy food and LOTS of joking and laughing!! The night was followed up and fillied with stories of Elder Murray's mission and missions served by other family members.
We are SO excited to have Elder Murray back home again, safe and sound! We love you Blaine!!!
