Spiritually fed

Today we met at the Logan Tabernacle for Stake Conference. In attendance were Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Elder Brent H. Nielsen of the Seventy.
During the meeting the Stake Presidency was released and replaced with our current Stake Presidency, which consists of our own Bishop-Bishop Kent Thomas.
Following the releasings and sustainings, each of the brethren got up and had a chance to bear their testimonies. Afterwards, the closing talks were given by Elder Nielsen and Elder Oaks.
There were many great things I took from their talks but the thing that stuck out to me the most was when Elder Oaks said, (in regards to wanting a family but that some are not able to have children) "...you will be blessed for your desires".
Lately I've been struggling with not having a family yet, but also wondering if I am doing enough on my part? Or, am I pushing too hard trying to force Heavenly Father's will to come to pass in MY time. As Elder Oaks spoke these words, it was as if he had said them to me. I felt a great sense of peace. If we are to have a family, they will come. It will not be in our time but our Heavenly Father's. If we are not to have a family in this life, we will still receive blessings because of our desires.
Todays session of Stake Conference was spiritually nourishing as it strenghtened my testimony that our Heavenly Father does speak to us through His chosen leaders.

Thanks Jena for sharing Elder Oaks' message. I needed to hear that one too. It is amazing how strongly a single sentence can bring the spirit.
