Before we left for Manti, my Mom called to inform me that she had taken my Dad into the hospital for a kidney stone. Poor Dad. She said not to worry about him and to enjoy the pageant, that she was just calling to inform me (I always give her crap about "why didn't anyone tell me!!).
We met up with our friends Jenny and Jeremy. We got there early enough to get through the gates and save some good seats. Then we walked around to check out some booths. We had a yummy dinner of marinated turkey steaks and mashed potatoes. After dinner we walked around the craft booths and got ice cream cones. It was SO hot and we got a few bug bites but we survived. After the sun started going down though, it made for a perfect evening!!
JC's parents live in Ephraim and his Dad volunteered to be an Usher for the pageant so we got to see him a couple times before the pageants started. It was as cool as I remembered it! They did upgrade some of their "stage props" which made for some great drama and experiences.
I am so grateful for the humility of our beloved Prophet Joseph Smith and being so in tune to the spirit, especially at such a young age. What a great way to celebrate the great Mormon miracles that took place back then.
