Baby Shower for Elsje

This last weekend I got to go home and host a baby shower for one of my best friends. I was SO excited when I found out she was expecting! I find myself anticipating the arrival of this little guy, almost as much as Grandma!
The theme of the shower was: Pickles and Ice Cream. As guests arrived they were given pickle cutouts and asked to write avice for the new Mom for when she "finds herself in a pickle with her newborn". Afterwards we collected them in a "pickle jar" to send home with Elsje. Then, we played a couple of fun games. The first game consisted of having to write down any crazy cravings had as an expectant Mom. Afterwards we colleted their papers and read off their cravings then matched the Mom with her craving. After the right Mom was chosen she would stand and introduce herself and tell how she knew the guest of honor. Our second game was "Guess the Flavor". Guests were given ice cream samples of ice cream that had been discolored and had to guess the flavor. I was pretty suprised at the difficulty these ladies had at guessing ice cream flavors. I guess looks CAN be deceiving. After the games we had yummy food, opened some WAY cute gifts, and visited with eachother.
Once again I have to recognize my own amazing Mother for helping me carry this out. I couldn't do half of what I do without her. Thanks again Mom!
