After they took me to the labor and delivery room, the nurse came and introduced herself and did the run down of everything she has to do and then asked me if she could get me anything. I asked her how soon I could have my epidural. They had to draw some blood and do some lab work first to see if they could give it to me. About an hour-and-a-half later the nurse came in to tell me they could now do the epidural. I was still kind of nervous to get the epidural. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined. I would totally do it again in a heart beat!!
In the hours following, the nurses checked about every three hours and I went from 5 centimeters, to 8 centimeters, to complete. At
I was exhausted but when I heard Zachary cry and they put him on my stomach, it was as if he and I were the only ones in the room. I held him and just cried. What an amazing experience to be in the room to witness that part of Heaven.
I stayed in the hospital for two days and was antsy to get home. Zachary was doing good and the nurses said I was healing well so they discharged us.
