Till we meet again

On Saturday, March 14th, we said our final goodbyes to Grandpa, in this life. The funeral service was filled with tears, memories, and laughter. I loved my Grandpas sense of humor. He was such a big tease. I think my enjoyment of playing jokes and teasing people comes from a mix of my Dad and Grandpa Munns.
After the opening prayer, a quartet of men from Grandpas ward High Priest group invited the spirit with a beautiful song. Then Mom and Aunt Jana gave the life sketch. They shared Grandpas life, achievements, and memories from the grand kids. Afterward the grand kids got up and sang "Families Can Be Together Forever". Then my Uncle Paul and Uncle Russ gave their tribute to Grandpa. Following them, an old Bishop and dear friend of Grandpas got up. The closing remarks were given by Grandpas current Bishop, who when he was a young boy and his Father passed away, Grandpa Munns had spoke at his Father's funeral as his Bishop. After the closing prayer we all went to the parking lot where we would follow the hurse to the cemetery.
As we arrived at the cemetery, there was still snow on the ground but the sun was shining and was so warm. Once again, I know Grandpa was there. After everyone had a chance to gather around the burial site, all the attending grandsons received and delivered the casket. I am grateful for the peace that was felt during the priesthood blessing given to dedicate that sacred resting place.
Grandpa we love you and will miss you. Thank you for your example of hard work, loyalty, love, and laughter. Till we meet again...

My sweet in-laws came up to attend the viewing and the funeral services. My mother-in-law had grown up knowing my Grandpa Munns. It was so good to have them there.

Jena, I gove Uncle Harry. I was so sad I couldn't come to the funeral but I was thinking of all of you that day. My mom said it was very nice. I'm sorry for your loss, and I pray Aunt Vonda Gae is doing well. I love you all.

Grandpas are so cool. It's interesting he passed the same day my grandpa did (in 2005). We like to think he is watching over us. Hope you are doing well! It is good to cherish the good memories.
