For JC's actual birthday I made plans to meet the head instructor up on campus with doughnuts, juice, balloons, and a birthday banner. He agreed he would put up the banner and do a whole suprise thing for JC's class.
I left campus and went to my office waiting for JC to meet me later on to go to dinner. When he got to my office he was acting like himself. I smiled at him and he smiled back asking if I was ready to go. I said, "So!! How was class?!?!" He said it was fine and that they just talked about ground regulations. This is how the rest of the conversation went:
Jena: So all you did was talk? You didn't do anything else?
JC: No
Jena: Sean (the instructor) didn't bring anything out?
JC: No? Why?
Jena: HE DIDN"T BRING ANYTHING OUT?!?!
(At this point the light went on and JC gave a look of "Ot oh! I'm in trouble")
JC: No? Why?
(Then I proceeded to get uspet at his instructor for ruining my suprise)
JC: Well I got to class late and no one was there. I got back late from my flight, couldn't find
parking, got stuck in line when I went to put flight money in, and when I got to class everyone was gone!
Jena: Oh....because I took doughnuts, juice, and balloons to class for a suprise thing.
At the time JC felt sick about it. In fact, he almost threw up he felt so bad. Poor guy. But, now we can both laugh about it. I guess his class waited for him for quite a while and when he didn't show up they just ate the doughnuts and juice. This will deffinately be a memory to look back on and get a good laugh out of it.
After our conversation we went to dinner at JC's favorite Korean restaurant here in Logan. He served his mission in South Korea and brought home a love for their food. On our way home Mom, Dad, and Nathan called and sang "Happy Birthday". After dinner we went home and did cake and ice cream and watched Pirates of the Carribean 3. After the movie my Mom called to wish him a happy birthday.
(The cake is suppose to be a blue "U" for Utah State University. No it wasn't suppose to be a blue toilet seat with frosting)

That is so funny that he missed the whole surprise. I am glad that the rest of the day went good. Happy Birthday J.C.
Good times! Happy Birthday, JC!
And we can't wait to celebrate your birthday again this weekend. Happy birthday. It is on the same day as my grandma T, and one of the ladies I visit teach, and a girl in my ward at home, and . . . .
